Quality-assured concrete – all grades available
We can supply mixed concrete and screed – at low prices. Whether you need domestic concrete or commercial concrete, Maguire can provide the concrete you need.
Grades of concrete are defined by the strength and composition of the concrete and the minimum strength the concrete should have following 28 days of initial construction. For example, C10 has the compressive strength of 10 newtons, 28 days after initial construction.
All concrete grades available
We keep all our quality-assured raw materials in weather-protected containers so they stay in top condition. Our concrete is suitable for all domestic and commercial jobs.
- C10/Gen 1: Used across domestic and commercial applications, this concrete mix is used for non-structural work, such as patio slabs, trench filling, step foundations, pathways, and drainage.
- C15/Gen 2: This mixture is often used for flooring where no permanent floor covering, like carpet or tiles, is going to be installed. It is also sometimes used for foundations for small walls, sheds, and conservatories, as well as paving for paths and steps.
- C20/Gen 3: These are commonly used for lightweight domestic applications and foundations, including shed bases or to construct internal floor slabs.
- C25: This versatile mix is commonly used in both domestic and commercial projects, for foundations, footings, or concrete fill, as well as general groundworks.
- C30: Ideal for external applications, such as slabbing and outdoor paved areas, this mix has entrainment additives to help protect against the freeze-thaw cycle.
- C35: This is heavy duty mix and is widely used in commercial and industrial applications, such as reinforced bases for commercial buildings or piling.
- C40: This is a strong commercial grade concrete commonly for the construction of roadworks and in agricultural use.
- C50/C55/C60: These high strength concrete mixes used for specialised projects.
Foamed concrete
Do you need foamed concrete? This concrete is high air entrained sand cement or cement only slurry with greater than 20 per cent air by volume. This concrete mix is free-flowing, lightweight and self-compacting, and is also highly insulating.
Foamed concrete has good load bearing capacity and resistance to freeze-thaw exposure. Risk of shrinkage or settlement cracking is markedly lower than that of standard concrete.

We supply admixtures available on request
We can add specialist concrete admixtures. These different additives promote certain properties and fit different uses.
Common admixtures include:
- Retarders: These chemical agents slow down the rate that the concrete sets, which is useful when laying concrete in high temperatures.
- Plasticisers: This is a water reducer that improves workability and allows concrete to flow more freely.
- Accelerators: These increase the rate of concrete strength development or reduce concrete setting time.
- Fibres: These improve the tensile strength of the concrete and reduce cracking due to shrinkage.
- Waterproofers: This admixture prevents the passage of water through hardened concrete.
